EDUCATION Mr. Spencer holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mount Union College in Alliance, Ohio, and a Chartered Life Underwriter’s Degree (CLU) from the American College of Life Underwriters, at that time a part of the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. INSURANCE EXECUTIVE In 1957, he began his business career as a life underwriter for the New York Life Insurance Company in Cleveland, Ohio, and became a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable in his first year. After a brief tenure in the home office of the Company, he became a General Manager of one of their marketing offices in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
